Picturesque Gothic style lodge of 2 storeys consisting of a main range with wing to R and porch to L, both set back. Behind the wing is a lower projection which has a lean-to behind the main range. The main elevations are of coursed, rock-faced sandstone. The roof is slate with half hip and cusped barge boards to main range at front and later brick ridge stack to wing. To the front, the main range has a 3-light mullioned-and-transomed window in a canted bay, with 2-light casement under a hood mould above. In the wing are 3-light mullioned windows (with hood mould in the lower storey). The porch has elliptical archways under hood moulds on 3 sides, and is supported on columns hewn from single blocks. Above the porch entrance is a dragon in a shield, and the gable has cusped barge boards. Inside the porch is a rib vault. (The front door has been converted to a window and the main entrance is now in the lean-to behind.) The wing has a roughcast gable end with inserted window in lower storey and 12-pane horned sash window above. The rear projection is built into the bank, has a half-hipped roof and a 2-light casement to rear above the bank. The main range rear wall is rubble stone and has a cross window in a brick surround above the lean-to.
