History

The structure is probably of the early C19, when this remote area of the upper Cadnant was opened up to cultivation.

Exterior

Rubble dry-built stone retaining wall in front of the farmhouse, containing four emplacements for bee boles at approximately 1m high, and below, 3 open fronted nesting boxes, probably for fowls.

Included for special historic interest as a rare and well-preserved combination of bee boles and nest boxes.
