The Town Council Offices were built in 1902 by Grayson and Ould. The gate piers appear to be part of the original design.
The gate piers are of sandstone blocks, each course alternating in size, and rising to a monolithic capital which includes a cornice and swept pedestal to a ball finial. The iron gates are missing.
Included as part of the design of the Council Offices, and within the Conservation Area of Chirk.
