One of a pair of croglofft cottages of earth-walled construction, a type that seems to date from mid C19 in the region, and is becoming rare. Not apparently marked on 1844 Aberdaron Tithe Map though a 23 acre (9.3ha) holding called Penrhos is named on the schedule, owned by David Evans, occupied by John Williams.
Cottage, whitewashed earth walls and slate roof continuous with No 1 adjoining. red brick end stacks, right stack shared with No 1. Single-storey, double-fronted wuth ledged door, 2-pane sash left, 4-pane right. Lower outbuilding to left, whitewashed earth wall with ledged door and grouted slate roof. Rear wall of house is also whitewashed earth, with 9-pane small sash left and 4-pane small sash right.
Included with No 1 Penrhos as part of a pair of mud-walled cottages, a vernacular building type becoming very rare in the region.
