Gates and gatepiers built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, architect and owner of the Brondanw estate from 1908 until his death in 1978. Conceived as vista gates at the start of a long straight path from Plas Brondanw to the foot of the hill upon which the folly Brondanw Tower stands.
Tall rubble gatepiers, sloped-up from square buttressed walls on either side. The top stages are off-set and have reconstitiuted stone moulded capping with flaming urn finials. Simple low iron gates with urn finials, painted in the distinctive gold and light blue estate colours..
Adjoining to the L pier, a rubble wall slopes up on a natural rock roundation to join a concave curved wall some 15m long and 1.5m high; stone ball finials terminate this at either end, that to the L on a square pier with reconstituted capping.
Listed as part of Clough Willams-Ellis' work at Plas Brondanw and for group value with other listed items.
