Probably built in the mid C19 at the time major upgrading of the farm buildings was taking place.
The carthouse is built of local rubble stone with a slate roof. It is of 2 bays, each with an open basket arch of well formed voussoirs giving on to the yard and having a loft over. A lean-to, probably contemporary, is attached to one end with a stable door, also to the yard.
Included for group value with Hendre Arddwyfaen farmhouse.
