History

Barn range parallel and to W of coach-house range at Cefnamwlch, part of the very large group of service buildings at the house. Probably early C19 altered and extended c1884.

Exterior

Barn range, rubble stone with some later C19 squared granite rubble, single slate roof. Barn main door faces W into a paddock and is tall with brick jambs and brick cambered head. Shuttered large loft window to left and right, slab lintels. S end wall is rebuilt in C19 with 13 small loops. E side, to yard has big shuttered 2-light loft window to left, double doors centre with single slab lintel and small paned square loft window right. C19 addition at N end has cart-entry to left with massive slab lintel and 2 small 2-light windows under eaves left and right. N end wall has 2 double ledged coach-house doors with timber post between, roughcast gable and overhanging verges. Stone steps rear to loft door.

Interior

Barn has 6 wishbone trusses to roof, one dated AD 1884.
