History

A probably early C18 threshing barn extended into a cart shed at one end.

Exterior

Roughly coursed red sandstone rubble with Welsh slate roof. A large barn built on the level with opposed doors in the centre and two slit vents on either side. The doors in the road front are plain, but there is a large projecting gabled porch on the farmyard side. The gable end has two tiers of slit vents and the other gable has been extended for a 2-bay cart shed with openings on the yard side, one with boarded doors, the other with one modern concrete block jamb.

Interior

Five bay interior with four principal rafter trusses with ties, three tiers of purlins, arch ridge piece.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a good example of a probably early C18 threshing barn.
