History

Later C19 terraced house and shop, added to Nos 1 to 3 Tyrrel Place in similar style but slighty different. Typical of the terraces built as the village expanded with woollen mills and lead-mining.

Exterior

Coursed rubbble stone with slate roofs, bracketted eaves and red brick N end stack. Two-storey, three-window range, similar to Nos 1-3 Tyrrel Place, but with 4-pane first floor sashes. Brick heads, slate sills. Ground floor has 6-pane shop window with timber lintel to left, half-glazed door with overlight and brick head to centre and throughway to right with brick arch. Right jamb of throughway and of first floor window above are original end wall of No 3 Tyrrel Place. N end has projecting stones showing that terrace was to have continued to N.
