Probably built at the time of the construction of Roft Castle house, 1836-7 which was built by John Boydell, steward of the Trevalyn estate, for himself.
Coursed and squared rubble, ashlar. Picturesque crenellated walls start with squared piers and then curve inwards towards the house and terminate with circular piers with low domed caps. Gates missing.
