Built 1847, to design by Thomas Penson the County Surveyor for Montgomeryshire, to replace two smaller bridges over the River Garno.
Built of local squared and coursed rubble. A single segmental arch having one ring of chamfered projecting voussoirs with central keystone rising to the square string following the camber of the road. Three-course parapet with flush copings each side, having scattered through stones projecting with rock-faced ends. The ends of the bridge are splayed, and the parapets end in terminal piers.
Included as a good example of a small masonry bridge of the mid C19, still in its original condition.
