History

Mid/late C19 cast-iron milepost made by the Eagle Foundry, Aberystwyth. This section of road was managed by the Aberystwyth Turnpike Trust, which was set up in 1770.

Exterior

Cast-iron milepost with two-faced angled front, bevelled to sloping top. Left side reads: "Temple Bar 3 Miles". Right side reads: "Llanybyther 5 Miles". Base signed: "Eagle Foundry Co., Aberystwyth".

Listed for its historic interest as a prominent survival of early road transport history.
