1879, by William Eden Nesfield, the well-known Victorian country house architect.
Stone wall continues from front of the Lodge to the W at approximately 2.2m as screen to service yard, sweeping forward and down to 1m high for 20m to the terminal pier with cornice at the W end.
The lodge is included as a successful design by an eminent architect, and is an integral part of the drive entrance on the approach to the Grade II* Gwernyfed Park, now Gwernyfed High School.
