Early C19 village house, possibly earlier in origin. Said to have been a public house at one time. A school-house is marked on the site on a 1777 Golden Grove estate map, but nothing is marked on 1845 Tithe Map.
Colourwashed roughcast with slate roof, relatively steeply pitched, and rendered stone end stacks. Two-storey, three-window range of horned 12-pane sashes and centre half-glazed door. Wall base is battered, also E end wall.
Included as part of attractive village group in Ship Street. Battered wall-base, narrow sash windows and roof pitch suggest an early date, but no confirming details seen.
Group value with other houses in Ship Street.
