History

Probably late C19. The casting plate is not visible on this example, but another similar sign-post in the area was cast at the Ruabon Foundry.

Exterior

Cast-iron sign-post: cylindrical shaft with ring-moulded capital and shaped finial. Three shaped direction markers have raised lettering and pointing hands (indicating directions to Ruabon, Rhostyllen and Wrexham).

Reasons for Listing

An unusual surviving example of a C19 sign-post (locally cast) in very good condition.
