Exterior

Later C17 3-bay byre with upper loft. Rubble construction with old, graded slate roof, partly repaired. Entrances to N, E and W sides with ventilation slit above the latter and a small, square opening above the former. Central gabled upper dormer entrance to N side with ruinous rubble stepped access advancing L-R; mid-late C17 ogee stopped-chamfered doorcase (R upright replaced).

Interior

Rough beamed ceiling to ground floor; original roof structure with pegged upper crucks with collars and overlapping purlins.

Reasons for Listing

A third quarter C17 byre with good upper cruck roof and retaining much of its historic character.

Group value with other listed items at Cymer Abbey.
