Contemporary to the 1860s enlargements to the house and estate improvements by Clarke and Holland of Newmarket for Lady Catherine Allen. These gates were originally the direct entrance gates to the house from the main road, before the present route through the stable yard was formed.
Pair of tall ashlar gate-piers on square plinth with pyramidal cappings and ball finials. Single, side-hung, timber gate with ironwork bars and diagonal brace with scrolly ends; pierced timber panels to bottom. Attached rubble boundary wall.
