History

Probably contemporary with the building (1898), by Arthur E Bell. manufactured by David King and son of Glasgow.

Regularly placed around the outside of this prominent building overlooking the docks, below the town on a flat site near Castleisland point.

Exterior

Two lampstandards to the front, two to the rear and one to either side.

Cast iron lampstandards, the design of which is swept out towards panelled base. Art-Nouveau leaf-like detail to the top of the circular stem where the curved lamp bracket projects. One of the lampstandards to the rear has lost its bracket.

Reasons for Listing

Included for group value with the Barry Dock Board Offices and the pedestal and statue of David Davies.
