History

Early C19 cottage one of group built for quarry workers at nearby Breakwater quarry.

Exterior

Heavily rendered walls, chimneys, slurried roof. One and a half storeys, two windows. Small dormers across eaves decorated bargeboards (pinnacle remains to L), 4-pane windows. Central large gabled porch, windows to side, boarded entrancedoor; porch links to foregarden wall. Window to each side of porch, 3 small panes over 2 larger panes. Lower 2m of wall of gable end to R is deeper than above.

Reasons for Listing

Included as best preserved example of quarry worker's house in this interesting settlement.
