C18 or earlier. A formal enclosure as an entrance to a country house is characteristic of the early C17 and part of the walling may date from that period.
Garden wall of limestone rubble about 2.5m in height. There is a doorway in the wall with a slightly cambered headed arch of dressed stone, a parapet with ramped coping and very ornate wrought iron gate. There is a further doorway towards the east end of the wall; this opens on to the rose garden and has a pointed head with stone voussoirs and stone parapet and a boarded door with hinges.
Included as one of the structures associated with the gardens and estate of St. Fagans Castle.
