1917 by W Goscombe John. Lord Ninian Edward Crichton Stuart was Member of Parliament for Cardiff, Cowbridge, and Llantrisant from 1883 to 1915, when he was killed in the Great War.
Standing bronze figure on moulded stone plinth. Bronze figure in military dress, represented with right leg bent at knee and extending forward and with right foot placed on a rock. Right arm with forearm outstretched and the right hand clasping a pair of binoculars. Left arm is slightly extended, with left hand holding papers and a riding crop.
Listed as imposing public sculpture by important Welsh artist on important site in civic centre.
