A building is marked on 1838 Tithe Map on site, but not identified as a house. The land was part of Bryntirion Farm.
Earlier C19 single storey cottage in rubble stone with corrugated iron roof and stone end stacks, larger to right. Double fronted with 9-pane casement each side of door, all with painted sandstone voussoirs. Door missing. Slate sills to windows. Roofless outbuilding to right. Outshut rear. Large stone fireplace at W end with timber lintel. Formerly with loft to E end.
Included as a scarce example of a largely unaltered single-storey vernacular cottage in the area.
