Exterior

c1860 pair of estate cottages built for Sir T.Lloyd of Bronwydd, Cardiganshire, Lord Marcher of Cemaes. Coursed rubble stone with slate roof and brick end stacks, with nogged brick caps. Symmetrical front, each cottage with inner door and outer window each floor. Brick framed black lozenge recess in centre. Doors are plank doors with narrow overlights, windows 12-pane sash below and 9-pane above, surviving on No 1, replaced by C20 windows on No 2. Painted brick heads to ground floor openings, timber lintels to upper windows. Lean-to at each end with door, blocked on No 1.

Included as rare pair of mid C19 estate cottages, and for group value with College.
