1905 bronze statue of a rifleman, bareheaded with pith helmet at his feet.
F Doyle Jones of Newcastle, sculptor. Tall grey granite tapering pedestal, rough faced on 3 sides, polished to front with inscription to the men of Llanelly who died in the South African War. Pedestal stands on further grey granite block with inscription recording the unveiling by Field Marshal Earl Roberts, 26 August 1905, and this in turn stands on a rock-faced Pennant stone block raised on two steps.
Statue is a replica of marble original in West Hartlepool.
