History

Dated 1841. Gothic cast-iron milepost, one of a series on A48; raised lettering.

Exterior

Pointed arched head with keystone above inscription: "Neath District". Triangular projection below the 2 pointed arched panels reading "To Neath 1" and "To Pyle 11", resting on "cushion" with semicircular panel reading "London 194". Base formed of square panel reading "Lantwit Parish" above dated plaque "2841". Plinth bearing lettering "Eaglebush Foundry", and "Gardner".
