Slag wall possibly C19. The blast furnaces of the Ystalfera Ironworks were just to the NW. Built in 1838 the anthracite ironworks closed in 1885. Tinplate production continued until after the Second World War.
Wall of coarsed slag blocks with copings of larger irregular blocks. Wall is some 1.7m high and approximately 30m long.
Included as rare example of a slag wall, an historically important relic of the Ystafera Ironworks.
