History

The Plâs was reported by the Royal Commission as a house of the late C16; it was demolished in the 1960s. The plain stone spheres of the entrance gateway survive; perhaps C18. The piers upon which they stand have been rebuilt and the carriageway between them widened.

Exterior

Stone spheres, about 0.6m diameter, on piers of axe-dressed masonry.
