Two pairs of gateposts contemporary with Carmarthenshire Infirmary of 1857-8, but all but second one and plinth of fourth missing in 2002. Retained on list as possibly to be re-erected. The upper blocks of left pier of right entrance were already dismantled and at rear of forecourt in 1977. Gatepiers are shown in print of 1861.
Painted grey limestone gate piers in 3 pieces: high plinth, short chamfered-and-stopped shaft and heavy capstone with coved cornice under curved cap with lunette panel to front.
Included for group value with the War Memorial and former Infirmary.
