Part of a row of four backland cottages, early C19, altered. Marked on Wood's 1834 Map of Carmarthen.
Cottage, first of a 2-storey painted rendered row of 4 cottages, with slate roof and small end stacks. The houses are grouped in 2 pairs and face S, each pair 3-window, thus with the paired doors under a single window. No 1 and 2 have 3 C20 uPVC windows on first floor and one to each outer bay below, Nos 3 and 4 have horned 12-pane sash windows. No 4 has plain door with glazed panel. Segmental arch in centre to through-passage between Nos 2 and 3.
Rear has few windows to both floors, rear C20 chimney stack on roof-verge to both Nos 2 and 3.
Included notwithstanding alterations as a good example of Carmarthen court housing, with an interesting plan form.
