History

Probably C17. The house has been restored and the accommodation upgraded recently by the addition of a secondary block linked by a low passage to the original house.

Exterior

Restored small box-framed three-room single-storey cottage, thatched, of the lobby entry type. Hipped roof with restored timber-framed chimney stack at the east apex. Restored windows.

Interior not inspected at resurvey.

Reasons for Listing

A rare surviving small early cottage retaining considerable historic interest for its timber framing and chimney construction notwithstanding very thorough restoration.
