Cruck-built storeyed Montgomeryshire type house probably converted from late medieval three-unit hall house.
Main block downhill-sited on platform, with later (probably C17) wing at right angle. Main block has five crucks, end crucks originally half-hipped, central cruck arch-braced with cusping above collar. Originally open hall with inner and outer room. Inserted fireplace, floor and added wing.
One and a half storeys. Walls in exposed square-panelled timber-framing, three panels high; slate roof brick chimneys. Entrance front has two gabled dormers. Entrance doorway (gabled hood) with two windows to L, and small square window to R. Exposed crucks to each end have heavy collars, and blades which have no apex since roof originally half-hipped. S end has casement window to each floor; at opposite end, two casement windows to each floor.
To R of entrance, parlour wing has projecting end chimney (doorway with gabled porch to L), gabled dormer, and three-light small-pane casement window; square casement window to rear.
