History

Dating from the original period of canal building 1794-7 and originally carrying the main Llanymynech to Welshpool road.

Exterior

Cemented red brick, rubble at lowest level, chamfered stone coping. Single elliptical arch with archring chamfered to towpath side, stone quayside edging. Ramped abutment walls and parapets curve out to brick piers, south east side ends against small gabled warehouse.
