History

Early C19 Inn (Noted in 1822).

Exterior

3 storey, 3 window symmetrical front. Colourwashed Flemish bond brick. Gently pitched slate roof, lead ridge, blocking course on plain cornice. Brick stacks, truncated to left. Modern casements to 2nd and 1st floor windows, modern shutters and ironwork balcony. Original tripartite sash to ground floor left. Gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, stone sills. Round arched doorway. Simply moulded, flat roofed open porch on square pillars.

English garden wall bond brick to rear. 9 and 12 pane sash windows, raking lead dormers to roof. Later accretions include converted flannel factory.
