History

Mid C19 house with shop. Shop occupied in 1977 by Lloyd and Matthew, in 2001 by Berlinz coffee shop.

Exterior

Terraced house, painted stucco with close-eaved slate roof. Three storeys, 2 bays with plain eaves band, 2 12-pane sash windows to 2nd floor and a big canted bay window with 8-16-8-pane glazing to 1st floor centre, renewed in late C20. Ground floor late C19 to early C20 shop front to left with panelled pilaster each side, frieze and cornice, the cornice carried around base of the oriel. Recessed door with overlight, single plate glass pane to front and one pane canted in to door. To right an arched doorway to rear yard, chamfered with plain fanlight and 6-panel door.

Interior

Altered, iron post inside shop-window.

Reasons for Listing

Included as stucco front in late Georgian style in terraced row on W side of Upper Frog Street. Good shopfront. Group value with Normandie Inn.
