C18 vernacular house. The house is not annotated on the Tithe Map of the parish of Llantrisant, 1843, but is recorded in both the Tithe Schedule and also the Census Returns for the parish, 1841. The house was owned by Edward Edmund Meyrick Esq, a small holding of just 1 acre (0.41 hectares) housing William Williams, blacksmith, and his family.
C18 vernacular house; a 2 storey, 2 window range with single storey kitchen wing set at right angles to rear (N) with lean-to porch in the angle. Built of rubble masonry, gray grit rendered. Modern slate roof with rendered gable stacks to house. The entrance elevation faces the smithy to the E; central entrance in a shallow gabled porch, flanking 4-pane horned sash windows, first floor windows in gabled half dormers. Rear elevation with single 4-pane sash window to R (S) end; single storey kitchen wing and porch with modern casements.

Listed as a good C18 house which, notwithstanding some modernisation, retains its vernacular character. Glan Hafren forms a group with the adjacent smithy and roadbridge, Pont Hafren.
