Of probable late- or sub-medieval origin, on the major route up the valley prior to the turnpike road.
Vernacular 6-span clapper footbridge. Irregular boulder platforms with cutwaters to the upstream side and square C20 piers rising above the walkway on the downstream side; 2-tier metal balustrade. Irregular cyclopean slate-stone slabs form the bridging sections. The bridge has an overall length of approximately 30m.
Listed for its special interest as a fine vernacular clapper bridge of great character.
