Possibly C17 in origin (see Interior), but refronted in early C19 and now has that character; C20 shopfront. Old buildings at the rear were demolished in 1978.
Said to retain oak beams and an old staircase on the second floor, but these were not available at resurvey.
Included for its special interest as a well preserved early/mid C19 frontage retaining its character, which has strong group value with other historic buildings in the centre of Abergavenny.
