History

Dated 1607 on C19 tablet, but the details suggest a date of c1640. The house was altered in the C19 and very extensively in c2000. It has now been incorporated together with the barn.

Exterior

Rubble, mainly rendered. 3-room and cross-passage plan. 2 storeys and loft. 4 window front (none old, some enlarged). 'Tudor'-headed doorway. Recent green-tiled roof. Moulded stone finial to right-hand gable, evidently original; swagger pierced bargeboards and pierced pendant possibly C19 echo of earlier features.

Interior

Interior not available at resurvey. Said to have wooden spiral stairs by chimney.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a remarkably sited C17 farmhouse that, despite extensive alterations, has retained its character.
