Probably C16/17 origin, the central pediment being a recognizably early feature in Chepstow, with reports of a former cross-passage plan; re-fronted in C18/early C19, and substantially rebuilt in late C20, reproducing existing frontage and incorporating former shopfront.
Large house converted into apartments. Rendered with scored unpainted roughcast with slate roof and stone end stacks. Two storeys and attic. Central gable with single 12-pane sash window; first floor has three 12-pane sashes in reveals. Ground floor has central doorway with panelled door on console brackets; sash window to right; to left Victorian shop front window projects and consists of fascia with end pilasters, recessed door to right and 2-light shop window to left. Side elevation to St Ann's Street comprising gable end of main unit and lower cross wing has irregularly spaced and sized 4 pane sash windows each side of a panelled door with moulded case, entrance to no. 22a.
Divided into flats.
Listed notwithstanding remodelling as a Georgian-fronted townhouse. Group value with adjacent listed buildings.
