History

Mid to late C19, ?1860's (before 1872 as shown on 1st edition OS map); formerly the Glyn Cafe; became Masonic Hall ca 1922.

Exterior

3-storey, 4-window former industrial building with roughcast front; plinth and cill bands. Slate roof and bracket eaves; 6-pane pivot windows to 2nd floor, metal frame multipane windows below with small central casement openings; cambered heads. Small pane glazing above and to right of entrance with broad and cusped bracketed hood. Inserted to left is a rectangular panel inscribed 'RONDLE READE 1656' - this is said to have been removed from Llangollen Bridge at the time of the 1873 widening; the stone itself relates to repair of the bridge by this mason at a cost of รบ250.
Left gable end has pediment treatment given by continuation of brick bracketed eaves and similar brackets to the gable. Some blocked windows.
