History

Early C19, possibly with earlier origins.

Exterior

Symmetrical 2-storey 5-window range. Lined stuccoed front, slate roof, brick end stacks. Central full-height gabled porch, jettied on 2 Roman Doric columns. Moulded doorcase of c1900 with half-glazed panelled door. Porch chamber, above entrance, has window band including 2 margin-glazed windows to front. Flanking porch, windows are 12-pane hornless sashes with chamfered brick sills. To N gable end, C20 wooden door with sidelight to its L. South end adjoins no. 7 Castle Street.
