GVIR, K6 type telephone kiosk to the standard design of Giles Gilbert Scott, architect of London, introduced by the GPO in 1936. This example was cast by the Lion Foundry, Kirkintilloch.
A K6 type square, red kiosk of cast-iron, on a moulded plinth. The domed roof has 4 lunettes containing embossed crowns over ventilation slits and opals with almost completly faded red letting. The sides and door have raised surrounds with marginal bars to horizontal glazing. The door is renewed in wood.
Listed for its contribution to the historic character of Gwaenysgor.
