Description

1753, substantially repaired in 1833. Simple T-plan church,
the rear (north) wing slightly lower than main portion (and
possibly a later addition, of 1833?). All harled rubble with
tooled ashlar dressings and margins. Entrance now in east
elevation of rear wing. 2 large segmental headed windows in
centre of south elevation flanked by similar, smaller windows
in outer bays. Similarly detailed gallery windows in east and
west gables; ground floor window in west gable, blocked at
east. Multi- and 12-pane glazing with delicate astragals to
front elevation windows. Birdcage bellcote at west gable apex
with ball finialled, ogee cap; local slate roof.
Interior; all seats and fittings removed. Burial Ground; coped
flagstone rubble walled burial ground, tightly packed with
18th, 19th and 20th century table and upright tombs. 2 pairs
rubble gate piers.
