Mid to later 19th century. 3 polygonal game larders, in garden to rear of Montcoffer House. 2 larders coursed rubble with brick arches, ashlar dressings; raised margins, base course, band course, eaves course and cornice. 1 larder of wood. 4 panelled door to each. Grey slates.
W LARDER: classical style. Doorway with impost course, semi-circular fanlight with keystone, repeated as window above impost course to each elevation, with diamond-pane hoppers. Polygonal roof; wooden louvred ventilator at apex with ogival leaded roof and ball finial. Trelliswork cladding surviving on certain faces.
INTERIOR: lath and plaster. Dated game bag records written on walls.
E LARDER: in Tudor style; hoodmoulded openings. Doorway with letterbox fanlight. 2 windows round-arched timber casements, alternating with blank elevations. Slated polygonal roof with ball finial and ?fox weathervane. Trelliswork cladding as above.
N LARDER: wooden, smaller; doorway with rectangular fanlight. Cornice.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1990.
Montcoffer House was renovated for the Earl of Fife's Factor, William Rose, circa 1774-75. The Dovecot was built by 1790. West Larder with partly damaged roof (1990).
