Blaikie Bros, Aberdeen, 1878. Cast-iron, segmental bow-backed bridge spanning Garbh Allt Falls, with scissor-braced support and segmental arch rings; sheet metal deck and decorative cast-iron railings of circular motifs (circles within circles) in regular panels. Makers plate on arch ring.
William Simpson's watercolour of Queen Victoria sketching at the Falls was included in the Illustrated London News, 1901. A uniquely detailed and beautifully designed example of iron construction, spanning the Falls gracefully.
