Description

Probably 1901. Granite obelisk on corniced and inscribed granite pedestal with rock-faced sides.

Statement of Interest

The inscription states that the obelisk was erected to the Beloved Memory of her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Victoria, Sovereign of Great Britain and Ireland and Empress of India. It was erected by the tenants and servants of Balmoral, Abergeldie and Birkhall. It is the partner to the earlier obelisk erected by the tenantry in memory of Prince Albert, and part of the rich furnishings which distinguish the castle landscape.
