Well-detailed single storey Baronial lodge house with 2- and 3-stage crenellated towers and gatepiers with fine ironwork gates, sited at E entrance to Dinnet House policies. Aberdeen bond granite, mutuled cornice and cross gunloops to towers. Finialled crowstepped gables to single storey bays, chamfered reveals and stone mullions.
FURTHER DESCRIPTION: entrance elevation to S, facing gates, with 2-leaf timber door in low crowstepped bay at left, polygonal stair tower to centre with narrow lights, and lower circular tower adjoining at right with bipartite windows to E (road) elevation.
9-pane glazing pattern over plate glass in timber sash and case windows; plate glass glazing to tower lights. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks.
GATEPIERS AND GATES: polygonal bull-faced gatepiers with deep stepped coping and large ball finials flanking 2-leaf decorative ironwork gates and outer pedestrian gates.
B Group with Dinnet House, Stables, Walled garden and North Lodge. The East Lodge and Gates present an especially high quality entrance to the long driveway leading to Dinnet House. There is particularly fine detailing on the towers and the Aberdeen bonding, crenellations, and crow-stepped gables all echo details to be found at Dinnet House. The gates show good decorative iron work.
