A once-vital part of the Kinnell Estate the Ice House is situated a short distance to the East of Kinnell House. Partly set into the hillside to elicit the coolest conditions, it consists of a conical rubble stone chamber with a short projecting gabled entrance wing. Dating from the later to late 18th century the Ice House would have provided a place to store and preserve food all year round. It is shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map and by the 2nd edition is noted as an 'Old Icehouse'.
