Earlier to mid 19th century. Tapered square-plan droved ashlar monolith; chanelled N side for later gas tube. Cast-iron tubular post and scrolled lamp holder.
This is the only lamp standard surviving of a type that was common to Inverkeithing's High Street and Great North Road during the 19th century. This type of lamp may be seen in an 1871 pictorial view of Inverkeithing High Street by David Buchan Young (1830-1920) located in Inverkeithing Museum.
