1887. 3-stage drinking fountain, granite with decorative cast-iron lamp. Square base incised with wording 'THE GIFT OF JAMES ALLAN 1887' giving way to pedestal with bronze relief bust of Queen Victoria to N; semicircular contrasting stone trough and bronze lion head to E and W; bronze Bo'Ness coat of arms 'SINE METU' to S. Slightly set-back 3rd stage with blocked segmental-headed opening to each face, that to N surmounted with incised wording 'JUBILEE DRINKING FOUNTAIN', and tapering polygonal cap surmounted by cast-iron shaft and 4-light decorative lamp.
Erected near the site of the Old Cross Well, also known as St John's Well. In 1818 a new cistern and well had been installed, at a cost of £38 9s 4d, by the New Shotts Iron Company, this was replaced by the Jubilee Fountain.
